A pedestrian suffered multiple fractures to his legs when he was in collision with a car on Brighton seafront.
The 27-year-old was walking in the roadway in Madeira Drive at 3.52am this morning when the incident happened.
He was taken to the Royal Sussex hospital suffering from multiple fractures to his legs.
The driver of the car involved in the collision, a Vauxhaul Vectra, was helping police with their inquiries.
Police appealed for witnesses to contact them. A spokesman said: "There were a number of party goers in the vicinity at the time who must have seen the incident."
