Robin Martin-Jenkins is ready to spearhead Sussex's Championship challenge again after making a successful return from injury in last night's Norwich Union League win over Middlesex.

The all-rounder returned after two months on the sidelines with a rib muscle injury with a man of the match performance, taking 3-20 as the Sharks won by seven runs under the Hove floodlights.

Providing he suffers no reaction overnight, He is in line to play his first Championship match since the end of May in today's second versus first clash against Middlesex at Hove (11.30am).

Martin-Jenkins said: "It has been a frustrating time for me because of the injury so it was nice to come back last night and on a winning side as well."

Jason Lewry could also be available after missing last week's defeat by Gloucestershire.

The left-armer had a net yesterday after having an injection in a troublesome elbow injury and will undergo a fitness test before play.

Four points seperate Sussex from the leaders and skipper Chris Adams is confident they can bounce back from last week's setback.

Middlesex skipper Angus Fraser and Phil Tufnell, neither of whom played last night, are expected to be in action today as Middlesex try to protect their slender lead at the top.
