During the morning of Monday, July 23, a middle-aged, shaven-headed man sat in his red car parked outside the Seaford Day Hospital in Middle Furlong. His wife was attending the hospital.

He was seen by two pensionable residents to empty the contents of his car's ashtray deliberately into the road. He then continued by throwing various sweet and chocolate wrappers through the open windows into the road. The two residents remonstrated with him but were subjected to a tirade of foul language, followed by more rubbish being thrown out.

His wife came out of the hospital and he drove off uttering more obscenities and offering two-finger signals.

Sir, if you read this, please be aware, not only were you committing an offence by throwing the rubbish on the road but also, at your age, you were hardly setting a good example to younger members of the community. The residents picked up your rubbish but please be aware, if you are seen doing this again, photographs of your actions, together with your car registration, will be passed to the police.
