It is probably Brighton's number one showbiz store and its fame is now "bouncing" on to the TV screens of millions.

Stars have been flocking to Oddballs toy shop in the North Laine to buy gadgets such as yo-yos, frisbees and scooters.

But the shop scooped its latest coup when millions of viewers tuned in to TV's Big Brother to see the household in action on its pogo stick and space-hopper.

The toys were part of the latest challenge dreamed up by the producers of the "reality TV" show to keep the household entertained.

Oddballs owner Craig Patterson, 32, also supplied the unicycle in the last series, which was mastered so effectively by the winner, Craig.

He said: "I am very pleased the producers of the show have once again come to us.

"They asked for pogo sticks and Spacehoppers because they said they wanted to put the contestants through a playground challenge."

Even before Big Brother, the store had established itself in the "showbiz" league with customers including DJ Norman Cook, his TV presenter wife Zoe Ball and actor Nick Berry.

Staff said former boxing champion Chris Eubank visited recently and insisted on introducing himself to fellow shoppers and shaking them by the hand.

Tim Booth, lead singer with pop band James, has bought yo-yos and presents while actor Steven Berkoff is also a regular visitor. Chris Ellison, who played DCI Burnside in The Bill, also pops in to browse.
