Worthing expect to unveil a new goalkeeper when Albion visit for a prestigious friendly on Tuesday night.

Boss Sammy Donnelly was last night poised to sign James Wastell, released recently by Croydon, to fill his troublesome No.1 slot.

Donnelly has also re-signed Lee Bray, hero of the FA Cup run two seasons ago, but he is only available for Saturday matches.

Young Matthew May remains on Rebels' books and may see action against the Seagulls.

He was thrown into the deep end last season following the untimely departures of Richard Waters and Lee Preston and gained some valuable first team experience.

Former Crawley man Warren Smart, who can play in midfield or at the back, will also make his debut.

Donnelly is looking forward to the contest.

He said: "This time last year I was hoping Albion and ourselves would both go up and I was delighted for them when they won the title.

"Micky Adams has done a great job there and we always look forward to playing against them in front of a big crowd."

Rebels this week unveiled radio station WorthFM as their sponsors putting a five-figure sum into the club for next season.

It was revealed ten days ago that the Ryman League club had clinched the biggest sponsorship deal in their history.

WorthFM is already available via the internet and parent company Cable Radio Limited, based in Shoreham, are bidding for the new radio licence for Worthing.

Newsquest, whose newspapers include the Sports Argus and Argus, are also among the competitors for the franchise.

WorthFM's Saturday sports programme will centre on events at Woodside Road and they hope to run other promotions involving the club throughout the week.

Rebels will stage a launch party on Tuesday night, when Albion visit for the traditional pre-season curtain raiser.

Although fans can pay on the gate, the best way to beat the queues is to buy tickets in advance.

They are available from Woodside Road or the Seagulls Shop in Queen's Road, Brighton.
