I wonder how the leadership of Brighton and Hove City Council reacted to the recent showing on BBC2 of Brighton: Out The Closet?
Did they feel this sort of publicity is just what is required to promote Brighton and Hove as the "gay capital of Europe" or did they hang their heads in shame at the disgrace brought upon our new city?
The eight films shown over two weeks pose some serious questions which require answers. Who was responsible for them? Did they have the permission of the council?
Was any hard-earned public money put into financing them? And where is the evidence that 40,000 gay people are resident in the city and that 2,000 more are joining them each year?
The only good thing about this series was that it did not go out until 11.25pm when, hopefully, not too many people will have been watching.
