The repair, maintenance and, if necessary, restoration of a listed building such as Embassy Court ("Don't knock our home", Argus, May 24.) is, by law, the responsibility of the occupiers or owners.
Even if Brighton and Hove City Council "wanted to help", it would be illegal for it to do so under the Town and County Planning Acts.
I recall, a couple of years ago, a structural survey was commissioned to which the council contributed some #10,000 (legally questionable).
Has the survey been completed and, if so, were any conclusions reached or actions recommended?
