West Hove cleaned up in the Intermediate Cup over their own course in perfect weather.
The victory came after they won the Brighton and District GS Junior Cup in horrendous conditions at Brighton and Hove.
The morning matches saw the usual tussle between West Hove and East Brighton. Adam Blount and David Power (West Hove) were having their first senior match on rising from the junior ranks.
They suffered no nerves, disposing of Steve Antrim and Peter Southwell 2 and 1.
West Hove eventually won the semi-final 3-2.
The Dyke joined them in the final after limiting Brighton and Hove to just one win and a half in their last-four match In the final, Blount and Power once again proved the value of putting good young players into teams for experience. This time they recorded their second win of the day, also by 2 and 1 against Karl Nilchibar and Leon Sweid.
In the second match, Rob Elder and Andy Goddard (West Hove) could not quite equal their morning winning margin, but a 3 and 2 win over Steve Kirkham and Chris Bevan was acceptable.
The third match turned out to be a struggle with the home pair of David Sutton and Mark Pollington scraping home against Charles Harrison and Hayden Lea-White by the single hole.
Michael Gleeson, West Hove's playing captain for the fourth time and looking for a fourth successive victory, saw it through as, partnered by Ian Helmer, they had a 3 and 2 win against Roger Clifton-Moore and Michael Shaw. In the final match, Darent Savage and Gary Thompson of The Dyke beat Nigel James and Tim Ingram by 2 and 1.
In the Plate, East Brighton beat Brighton and Hove 4-1.
West Hove clinched their Junior Cup victory in a bizarre match.
The dog-leg 16th proved a difficult hole to close their opponents out on.
But the hole was won in TEN giving a match win by 3 and 2 and overall victory by the same score.
