A 17-year-old accused of killing a vicar and burying his dismembered body in a shallow grave was yesterday remanded in custody for four days.

The youth is charged with the murder of the Rev Ronald Glazebrook, 81, at the victim's flat in Dane Road, St Leonards, between April 27 and May 17.

He is also jointly charged with another 17-year-old youth of conspiring to prevent the lawful and decent burial of a dead body without lawful excuse during the same period.

The youths, who cannot be named for legal reasons but are both from St Leonards, appeared at Eastbourne Magistrates Court yesterday for a brief remand hearing.

The magistrates remanded the two teenagers in custody to appear at Hastings Youth Court on Wednesday.

No bail applications were made on their behalf.
