The prime minister, having intimated there is to be a

General Election in June 2001, has me in a quandary. His political party is so unpatriotic it does not appeal and, because the so-called opposition is in turmoil, there should be on the voting papers "don't know", so I do not lose my vote.

If the "don't know" vote resulted in a hung - or culled - government, it would solve many problems. Hark! I hear the blare of healthy cattle saying "hear, hear".

While on the subject of politics, I cannot understand that Bill Morris, the Union leader, can use the term "black" as many times as he likes and yet I am not allowed to watch my once-favourite entertain-ment, the Black and White Minstrel Show, because it is not politically correct.
