Imagine a world created entirely from Lego bricks and populated by tiny Lego figures and you have a pretty good idea what Lego Island 2 is going to offer.

Our anti-hero is "the brickster", who is set to create mayhem wherever possible.

You play as hero Pepper, the pizza delivery boy, who follows him around stopping the destruction of the island.

The only way to stop him is to piece together the infomaniac's constructapedia which shows the way to build absolutely anything.

This title offers plenty of action and escapism. Flying from island to island on the back of a giant pteradactyl or racing around a high-speed track is all in a day's work for a Lego Island explorer.

There is a deep diving section where the player has to dive down into the sea to recover lost bricks and then use them to rebuild the bridge to a rather neat Lego castle.

As a piece of software, Lego Island 2 is far more successful than earlier Lego titles.

It would appear Lego has responded to players' requests and created a more challenging environment with smarter sharper graphics and a higher level of game play.

The game is suitable for players of all ages, but Lego suggests that players should be over the age of six before they begin.

Lego Island 2 really does feel like good value for money, especially if you have a PlayStation. I tested the game on a PC but was assured the PlayStation version is identical in every way. Have fun.

Price: £24.99 (PC and Game Boy) £19.99 (PlayStation).
