Albion will celebrate their first promotion for 13 years with an open top bus tour of the city at the end of the season.

Brighton and Hove Council has been discussing with senior political figures how to reward the Seagulls.

The tour is expected to take place the day after Albion's final match at Shrewsbury on May 5.

Hove MP Ivor Caplin revealed: "There is agreement among senior politicians that the Council should invite the club to take part in an open top bus tour of the city at the conclusion of the season, probably on May 6.

"Hopefully they will have the championship trophy by then as well, but the occasion will reflect that the club is back.

"It is an integral part of the city and plays an important part in our marketing and tourism.

"Everyone at the club, Micky Adams, his players, the fans and the Board have done brilliantly and this will also be a good way for all those people who cannot get to games to show their support."
