Bognor reached the semi-finals of the Full Members Trophy with a superb 3-1 win at premier division high-flyers Basingstoke last night.

Substitute Matt Russell was the hero with two goals in the last 15 minutes after coming off the bench.

But assistant boss Neil Hider praised the whole side as they outplayed Ernie Howe's highly rated outfit.

Hider said: "We hammered them. It was an absolutely magnificent team performance and we could have scored two or three more."

Rocks went ahead through an own goal but were pegged back when Adie Mings struck before the break. Victory was assured when Miles Rutherford made two acrobatic goalline clerances in the dying minutes.

Rocks now face Gravesend at Nyewood Lane in the semi after the Kent side beat St Albans in a shoot out last night Lee Weston hit a dramatic equaliser deep into stoppage time to give Worthing a hard earned point in a 1-1 division one draw at regulation threatened Leatherhead.

Weston capped a fine individual display by finding the net from a narrow angle after chasing the ball on the right and keeping possession on the by line.

Defender Stuart Tuck cleared off the line from Warren Burton and Rebels striker Simon Funnell was denied by keeper Stuart Vaughan before Paul McKay gave Leatherhead a 29th minute lead.

McKay struck with a left foot shot from 20 yards which deflected over keeper Matthew May.

Worthing striker Ben Carrington was unlucky shortly after the break when he struck a post from Danny Smith's pass, and Paul Kennett had a header saved before being off target from a corner by Funnell.

Said manager Sammy Donnelly: "We've worked hard well of late and aim to keep it going in our remaining games so we can finish as high as possible in the table".

Horsham were beaten 2-1 at fellow promotion hopefuls Windsor and Eton in division two.

The Royalists opened the scoring in the 17th minute. Hornets keeper Ian Chatfield came off his line to gather a long Gary Smart cross but was beaten to the ball by Chuk Agousi who headed into the empty net.

Steve Payne almost equalised from the restart but home keeper Trevor Bunting saved at full stretch. Six minutes later Windsor went further ahead when Agousi beat John Kirby to give Chatfield no chance.

The visitors pulled a goal back on the stroke of half time, Gavin Geddes scrambling the ball over the line from Dave Odongo's cross.

Lewes edged a little closer to division three promotion as they won 1-0 at Aveley.
