I was absolutely delighted to receive the brilliant news that Southern Water's appeal was rejected at Portobello.
I want to congratulate the Campaign for Residents Against Portobello and all the local residents who have campaigned so tirelessly against the proposed waste water treatment plant and who presented such a professional case at the 43-day planning inquiry.
We should also not forget the vital part played by the late Councillor Robin Allen at East Sussex County Council.
It was crucial to convince the inspector to recommend the rejection of the appeal and this he did in no uncertain terms.
