A Brighton information technology firm has been featured in a list of the country's top businesses.

The award-winning fdm group is placed in 27th spot on the list of the UK's top IT recruitment firms.

Last year, the company achieved a turnover of more than £41million, rising from £7million just five years ago.

The company employs 174 people at its headquarters in Lover's Walk and South Road, Brighton and a futher 114 across Europe and the United States.

The latest listing by Recruitment International magazine follows four successive years in the Sunday Times/Virgin Atlantic FastTrack 100 list and 42nd place in Plimsoll Publishing's Top 100 Recruitment Agencies' list.

Managing director Rod Flavell said: "Independent assessment and accolades are a great morale-booster for the whole fdm team.

The company has also featured on financial information company Dun and Bradstreet's Hot 100 list. The success which has made fdm a key player in the IT sector includes the acquisition of a Luxembourg-based IT recruitment constultancy and a £2million contract to supply technical expertise for the high-profile, award-winning Schoolsnet web site.

It now has seven divisions worldwide, including training and recruitment.
