I like to motor over to Hove for a better time of it than in this benighted spot, and I have been much entertained by the way in which people on George Street are talking about this amazing business of the workmen starting at the wrong end.

Somebody in one of the cafes was also wondering what will happen when they come to put the second, finished layer on top of the rough foundation they have already laid at the south end.

This will bring the surface above the level of some shops' doorways. I can foresee any number of problems. What a farce. I doubt whether it will be finished by Christmas.
