The top two lost in the Worthing Snooker League.

Leaders New Central A were beaten 3-2 by Lancing Empire A who gained success through Tony Withers, Adrian Jackson, who hit a 32, and Paul Morgan. For New Central, Paul Wensley and Kevin Whitehead were successful.

Second placed Royal Mail A were beaten by Revenue B whose winners were Andy Allen, Andy Carter and Neil Stevens. First class service from Mail came via Elliott Bradley and Christian Sandalls.

Neil Kimmance, Tony Lane, Mick Greening, Alan Cargill and Brian Aylott were successful for Goring against Southwick B. Second placed New Central B had a bye while third placed Shoreham A lost 3-2 to Durrington WMC B. Winners were Steve Handerer, Cliff Newnham and Colin Wakefield, while Pat Crowley and Arthur Menday responded.

New leaders in Division C are Tennis B who beat Durrington WMC C 4-1. Winners were Roger Wadeson, Tony Burgess, Dave Eagle and Mike Elliott.

Second placed Lancing Empire C lost to Revenue B, whose winners were Brian Westcott, Andy Heater and Nick Kosovic.

Top of Division D are Shoreham B who beat Broadwater A 4-1 with Daniel Keegan, John and Rod Liddle and Andy Stainsby getting the wins. Gary Phillips responded.

Second placed Durrington Social B beat SmithKline Beecham A 5-0 via Colin Nicholson, Nick Roberts, Terry Brand, Peter Phillips and Gerry Moreton.

Third placed Shoreham C lost 3-2 to Durrington Social C with the successful men being Mick Hussey, Brian Whittaker and Ken Pentecost.

Durrington WMC A beat New Central B in the Veteran's League thanks to Bob Sadler, Doug Ellis and Terry Tack.

Second placed New Central A defeated Durrington Social B through Larry Palmer, Alan Cole and Mike Ford.

Third placed Durrington Social A overcame Shoreham A with wins from Terry Brand, Gordon Jones and Peter Wainwright.

Meanwhile, the Southern Amateur Open Championship takes place at the Executive Snooker Club, Leigh-on-Sea, on Saturday April 21. Entry fee is £20, the top prize is £500 and closing date for entries is April 7.
