At a time when everything in the world seems to be disastrous - train crashes, floods, earthquakes, global warming, my old friends passing on - and I feel sad, I try to think of all the wonderful things in my life.
The handsome faces of my lady-friends, the memory of 40 years of happy marriage to my late wife, the success of my son, the chatter of my grandchildren, sitting in the warm sun with a fresh sea breeze, the wonderful music from my hi-fi system during the lonely hours, the appreciation of being fit, healthy, active and bright at 80 years old. It's mostly a wonderful world.
