ALBION skipper Paul Rogers refuses to throw in the title towel.

Rogers leads the Seagulls back into the promotion fight at lowly Exeter tomorrow with Chesterfield 12 points clear from four more matches played.

Rogers has not given up hope of catching them, irrespective of whether the Spireites are floored by an FA investigation into financial irregularities.

"Obviously we would like to be in their position with the games played and the points in the bag," said Rogers. "They've done really well to keep getting results, but they are not out of sight.

"We've just got to forget Chesterfield and everyone else really and just concentrate on ourselves."

The players are relieved to be returning to action after three out of six postponements and a tough week's training.

"The Kidderminster game seems ages ago," Rogers said. "That will be two weeks on Saturday and before that we had a two week break from the League.

"We've not been able to train on grass for a number of weeks either, so it has been difficult.

"It was the worst news in the world when the Barnet game last Saturday was called off.

"You know you are in for it then with the gaffer. He had us running on Thursday, Friday and Saturday."

Boss Micky Adams makes one enforced change in the centre of defence, where the fit-again Matthew Wicks replaces the suspended Danny Cullip. Rookie Adam Virgo will be on the bench again as cover.

Rogers scored his second goal in the last three meetings with Exeter in Albion's 2-0 win before Christmas, when the relegation-haunted visitors had ten players booked.

"They had a few more booked in a local derby against Torquay last week, so we know it's going to be physical," Rogers added. "It will be a very difficult game because they are scrapping."
