Franka Philip is a real fan of new technology.
Not only does she work as the assistant content producer for The Argus internet site thisisbrightonandhove. co.uk but yesterday she graduated from the University of Sussex with an MA in digital media.
Franka, who is originally from Trinidad and who trained as a journalist, said: "I became interested in new media when we first got hooked up to the internet at home.
"It fascinated me and I was really interested to see where it could go.
"My degree helped me to think about the technology in a sophisticated manner and to see it from different perspectives."
As part of her course Franka designed a web site about the Trinidad Carnival and her dissertation was a study of how The Argus uses the internet.
She said: "I have already been able to put in place some of the things I learnt on my course and there are lots of new developments planned for the web site."
Franka has already emailed her family to tell them about her day.
Three further ceremonies were taking place at Sussex University today.
