Aundel manager Mick Rowland was far from disappointed despite his side slipping to a 1-0 defeat against local rivals Chichester City United last night at Mill Road.

After seeing his side lose to a Bill Butlin goal, the Mullets boss said: "I know many managers say this but I do believe the best side lost.

"It was a good game of football, end to end, but we just lacked the cutting edge to finish them off. They had one real opportunity and took it but we failed to take ours."

There was no surprise as Pagham sunk East Preston 3-0 with goals from Lee Stevens, Ricky Wilson and Steve Poulton.

Peter Heritage scored twice as Sidley beat Eastbourne Town 2-1. That was after Lee Walsh had put Town ahead.

Goals from Duncan O'Rourke, Dave Pettican and Dave Milkins helped Sidlesham to a 3-2 win over Littlehampton. Steve Davies and Derren Woods netted for the Marigolds.

Don Shepherd's first of the season helped Lancing to a 1-1 draw with Redhill. Dean replied for the hosts.
