A lot of people are asking why a new football stadium has got to be on the South Downs and not on a brownfield site in town.

Dick Knight and Martin Perry (December 15) made the case for a new football stadium, not for building it at Falmer.

Their article makes the grand claim of presenting the realities of a Falmer stadium but then presents us with some unbelievable claims, the most incredible being that a new stadium would enhance the visual quality of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty!
