A 19-year-old man charged with murdering a student from Sussex has been remanded in custody until next week.
David Thorpe, of Copsey Grove, Portsmouth, is accused of killing John Rees, 23, of Old Fort Road, Shoreham, on Sunday.
Mr Rees, a final-year computer studies student at Portsmouth University, had been out celebrating a friend's birthday in the city.
Thorpe will reappear before Portsmouth magistrates next Wednesday.
