A 62-year-old man is fighting for his life after he lost control of his motorbike and crashed.
The victim, who has not been named, hit the crash barrier on the A27 Shoreham flyover.
His powerful 900cc Yamaha bike then bounced back into the road in front of approaching traffic.
The driver of a Mitzibushi Evolution had to swerve to avoid the rider and bike and also crashed into the barrier.
The rider was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton with serious head injuries.
He was later transferred to a specialist head injuries hospital in London, where he was said to be "poorly".
