The vandalism of 60 vehicles since the weekend is almost unbelievable (November 14).
This situation simply cannot be allowed to continue. The town is a disaster zone, with vandalism and graffiti endemic. Is it is time to consider a zero tolerance policy?
The police seem powerless to cope, either due to lack of funds or manpower (or both). Perhaps some of the money paid out to spurious compensation claims could be diverted to strengthening the police presence on patrol or to offering rewards leading to convictions instead of just constant appeals for witnesses.
City or town, Brighton and Hove ratepayers deserve better security.
