Our residential street used to be clean until Sita pulled out our street cleaners (Bill and his mate) to clean the main streets and deal with problems and emergencies elsewhere.
Somewhere the balance of necessity is lacking.
Beaches, main streets and residential areas are all of equal importance. I remember in years past streets were constantly cleaned and swept and the drains had regular cleaning to prevent them from overflowing. Nowadays drains are only cleaned when they are blocked and causing flooding.
The Place to Be is becoming the Dirty Place to Be.
