Did it really need a judge (Argus, August 10) to tell Brighton and Hove Council the lights complained of in Stonery Road, Portslade, were a nuisance?

As a taxi driver, on occasions driving at night in the area, I could have told it that.

As you approach the area at night, you can see the sky lit and, turning into the road, you are fooled into believing there is a car approaching with headlights on full beam.

I feel deeply sorry for anyone having to live opposite these lights and it is a disgrace to read residents had to resort to taking court action to get something done about them.

Those responsible for planning the lighting should clear their desks and tender their resignations forthwith.
