I recently received a leaflet advertising a community event called Pride in Brighton and Hove. My heart sank when I saw music will be played to a certain level at the event.

This is the identical phrase used in similar leaflets about the Party in the Park. I know from experience that protests to the organisers and Brighton and Hove Council promoting sound levels fall on deaf ears (probably because they have been listening to a certain level for too long).

All I can do on the day is vacate my home from the start of sound checking at 9am until the event finishes at 9pm. Why should I and my neighbours be subjected to this cacophony for 12 hours?
