EAST GRINSTEAD veterans travel to the national hockey stadium at Milton Keynes tomorrow to play Khalsa in the final of the EHA Over-40s Cup.
This caps a record breaking season for the veterans who have already won the Wessex League, the Wessex Cup and the Sussex Cup.
Captain David Farrow and the management team of David Payne and Richard Organ will be taking a squad of 16, many of whom were part of the East Grinstead side which won the National Cup in 1984.
Farrow said: "A large part of the success is due to our strength in depth. There are no passengers, and over an eight-month season it's vital to maintain standards."
Richard Leman, who won a gold medal at the 1988 Seoul Olympics, is still playing National League hockey against players half his age.
Dale Mullins and Keith Strocchi form the nucleus of a solid, hard tackling defence in front of Chris Gregory in goal, while Martyn Cremin and Farrow keep the engine room running in midfield.
The final starts at 1.00.
Squad: Gregory, Gowen, Strocchi, Newson, B.Male, Needle, Mullins, Longstreet, Cremin, Lloyd, Leman, Farrow, J.Male, Bass, J.Male, Sear.
