More than 4,000 youngsters went wild as Irish boy band Westlife took the Southern FM Music Jam by storm.
Teenage girls broke down in tears as the boys launched into their hit song If I Let You Go, while others held up banners saying 'We Love You Westlife' at the Brighton Centre.
Westlife announced their one-off performance on Friday only two days before the annual event and tickets sold out within 24 hours. The chart-toppers stepped in to save the bash after headline act Craig David pulled out at the last minute. Craig apologised to fans on the Southern FM Breakfast Show and thanked Westlife for saving the day.
Bob Hoad, the managing director of Southern FM, was delighted with the event. He said:"Westlife stunned the crowd and made it one of the best Music Jams ever."
The event was also a celebration of Sussex stars. Eastbourne band Toploader went down a storm as did Littlehampton-based Delirious and Northern Line, with Brighton singer Dan Corsi. Other acts included The Wamdue Project, Colour Girl, Fierce, the Dum Dums, Shaft, Nu Generation and Daphe and Celeste.
