Yapton & Ford John Dickeson 01243 551972 PARISH COUNCIL: Yapton Parish Council met on March 13 to discuss the position regarding road markings which were agreed to be installed at the entrances to the village when the traffic calming scheme was accepted.

In spite of requests by the parish clerk these have not been done. West Sussex County Coun John Betteridge agreed to try to expedite this.

Arun District Council's cleansing and recycling manager, in reply to a letter about the state of the large car park, has suggested the remedy may lie in researching the area for a different location for the neighbourhood recycling centre.

The parish council replying to parish council said they do not have funds available to pay for repairs and request the removal of the bins or funding from them to repair, suggesting that this is a health and safety hazard.

Allotment rent is to be increased to £15 per plot. This has been forced on the council because of the increases in rent, water charges and grass cutting.

There are three vacant plots available. Anyone wishing to cultivate one should approach M.Caiger on Yapton 552435.
