Police are searching for a driver who fled after knocking down a pensioner on a pelican crossing.
The elderly woman was using the crossing by the Quintins Shopping Centre, North Street, Hailsham at 1.30pm yesterday when a car reversed into her.
The pensioner received only minor injuries and was helped to her feet by shoppers. But the driver of the car, who is believed to be female, drove away.
Police said the car was silver-coloured and anyone with information is urged to call them on 0845 60 70 999.
