Relieved Wick held on for a first win in more than two months, but they are still in the drop zone.

Matt High struck twice and then crossed for John White to hit the third as the strugglers took control against Eastbourne United. But they had some nervy moments as Carl Harris saw his cross float in, then Dale Seymour made it 3-2 with a great finish.

Simon Davey made sure of full points with a late save when Kieron White was clean through. It was Wick's first win since before Glenn Houchen took over and the not-so-new boss admitted: "Our lack of fitness told at the end. It's very nice to win but we were really hanging on in those last ten minutes."

Pagham, too, were celebrating after coming from behind to beat Whitehawk 2-1 at Nyetimber Lane. Clay Lamont put Hawks in front from Mark Sheriff's cross but headers in the last ten minutes from young David Hawkins turned things round.

Jason Allen scored after just 16 seconds for Three Bridges but they had to settle for a 1-1 home draw with East Preston. Clinton More rewarded EP's best spell immediately after the break and Paul Green hit a post for Bridges in the dying moments.

Portfield grabbed a handy point at home to Redhill when Kevin Brock's awkward free- kick was turned in by Kevin Clements. Steve Poulton had put the hosts ahead but Redhill hit back with a great finish by George Smith. The scorer was later taken off and Zak Newman came off the bench to score with his first touch.

Selsey's revival continued at Eastbourne Town but they were two goals up before having to share the points. Barry Rishman fired home a half volley from a corner, then Paul Lee's clever pass teed up Ian Ford to smash in a shot.

Stefan Fuller replied just before the break and Steve Loughton levelled after a howler from goalkeeper Dave Lever, who later redeemed himself with two great saves.

There's no change at the top, which is good news for Langney Sports, who cruised in 2-0 at ten-man Chichester City. Jason Reed hit the first from Daren Pearce's free-kick, then Simon Colbran's well-directed header made the points safe.

Burgess Hill played some good stuff in the second half of their 5-1 defeat of Shoreham. It was level at the break as Tim Marshall cancelled out Glenn Davies's opportunist strike. Roy Pook's cross and Daren Newman's header set up Dave Stevens to restore the lead.

Paul Williams added a free-kick and Ashley Carr hit the fourth before teeing up Pook to round off the scoring. Newman and Paul Thomsett were outstanding but Davies (Achilles) and Pook (ankle) picked up knocks which make them doubtful for tomorrow's John O'Hara Cup semi-final with Selsey.
