A BIG crowd is expected at the Southdown Club tomorrow as Lewes bid to claim a place in the premier division of English hockey.

A meteoric rise from regional league obscurity will be complete if Lewes can overcome third-placed Doncaster.

It is a win-or-bust situation as anything less than victory will see Lewes miss out on the sole promotion place.

Lewes have lost just twice this season and have been in excellent form since Christmas, but Loughborough Students remain a point behind and are expected to end their season with a comfortable victory over rock- bottom Hounslow.

But Lewes have never beaten Doncaster and lost 4-0 in the reverse fixture in November.

Lewes manager Peter Boyse said: "Doncaster lost last Sunday which means they might not be up for it so much. We have never beaten them and it would be nice to reverse that.

"We are expecting a big crowd. Loughborough are going to beat Hounslow and if we win, we win the league."

Boyse will pick from a full-strength squad and skipper Jeremy Boyse is expected to be the biggest threat after his four goal haul in a 6-1 win at Brooklands last Saturday.

Lewes squad: Dale, Standing, Champness, Heslop, Hill, Hawes, Owen, Poulsen, A. Boyse, J. Boyse, Cabay, Hurle, Jervis, Collins, Blonden, Walker, Miller.
