KNOLL & WEST NEVILL Glenys Bowley 01273 882050 CLUB UPDATE: The Knoll After School Club has moved from St Richard's to Knoll Infants school. Children staying at the club need to register with the secretary. We hope to have a pick-up service from another school in the area within the week.

Parents wanting to use this service should contact Anne on 410858 stating which school they would like a pick-up from.

The club is looking for two people to assist in helping with the after school club. Anna Duxbury will be leaving on March 23 to travel in Central America.

MUSIC: A new music project for young people has started in Hangleton and Knoll. Audio Active offers young people between the ages of 11-25 the chance to try out Djing or have a go at creating your own tracks using computer music. You don't have to have any experience or knowledge of music, just loads of enthusiasm.

Drop in Mondays between 2-6pm at the Brickhouse Studios, behind the Whistlestop Pub on Boundary Road. Or if you are over 14 come to the Knoll drop-in point youth club on Wednesdays at St Richard's in Egmont Road, between 9-11pm.

All this is free too. If these times aren't suitable but you still want to get involved, call Simon and David on 417552 for a chat.

YOUNG PEOPLE: The Parklife youth project is happening in Knoll Park every Saturday between 11am-3pm. for all young people over 11 years. There is a regular programme of sports and arts workshops. Just pop down to the park and join in. Also take down any ideas you have for new activities and Sue and Donna will be happy to help out.

MULTI-MEDIA: During the half term a multi-media day was held at St Richard's. There was an excellent turnout. Some people were making a video, some went on the internet, others were taught how to use a computer. Also there was a photography workshop.

FOR YOUR DIARY: Woodingdean Horticultural Society are holding the First Spring Mini Show with flowers and flower arrangements on March 25 from 10.30am-1pm at Community Centre.

Warren Women's Institute are meeting at the Community Centre on Tuesday, March 28, at 7.45pm for a talk by Mrs G Mattock on Learning Behind Bars.

Woodingdean Swimming Pool will be holding their AGM on Monday, April 3, at 8pm at the Holy Cross Church Hall in Warren Road. Volunteer helpers are now urgently needed plus £3,000 above the entrance fee in order to keep going. Contact 01273 302981 for information.

YOUTH PROJECT: Coldean Youth Centre Project is back for young people of ten-13 years every Wednesday between 6.30-8pm at the infant school, Selham Drive. There are a limited number of places available, for further information ring Amanda on 292729.

JUMBLE SALES: Church warden Ron Brown tells me that they made £50 at their jumble sale held in the church hall on Saturday. The money goes to church funds.

Busy Bees fund-raisers Sue Hollingdale informed me that they made a little over £107 at the jumble sale that they held at the infant school also on Saturday. The money will benefit the school.

GARDENING: The cutting of hedges and grass is due to take place again in Coldean beginning early April.The necessary forms would by now have been received and approved.

DIARY DATES: A church plant sale is to take place in the grounds of St Mary Magdalen on May 20 at 11am.

Also a John Mann concert is to take place at the Coldean school hall on the same date.

On Sunday June 18 there will be cream teas on the church grounds 3pm.

QUIZ: Organiser Alison Ellis-Martin said that they raised £26 with the quiz held at the junior school on Saturday. There were about 30 people present, funds go to benefit the swimming pool.

FORUM: There will be a meeting of Whitehawk Community Forum at The Greenhouse, Twineham Close, next Wednesday at 7.30pm. This is a good opportunity for residents to find out more about local affairs and have a say in decision-making.

One item to be discussed will be a possible change in the starting time of future meetings to 7pm, if enough people want this. Other items on the agenda include the urban programme, traffic-calming, community develop-ment and safety, and brief updates on various work in progress.
