Sussex's hopes of winning the South West Counties Championship could be hit by a fixture clash.

Their final date at Lancing on April 29 coincides with games involving all of Sussex's senior clubs. And, with the likes of Crawley and Horsham fighting relegation in their respective divisions and Langney Sports in the County League Division One title hunt, managers may be reluctant to release their players for Sussex duty.

County coach Nick Greenwood, also assistant at Langney Sports, said: "Something might need to be arranged to avoid a club versus county dilemma for managers."

Greenwood, whose side topped their group after a crushing 5-0 win against The Army at Aldershot on Tuesday evening, added: "The date of the final does set us a potential problem and it's something we've got to look into between now and then.

"Clubs have been fantastic in allowing their players to represent the county in these championships, but it may be tricky if any of them are still involved in promotion and relegation issues when the final comes around."
