Albion have lined up another temporary signing from Bristol City.

Central midfielder Carl Hutchings has talks with manager Micky Adams this morning. He is expected to sign for a month after training with the Seagulls and will then make his debut at home to play-off chasing Plymouth Argyle on Saturday.

Italian striker Lorenzo Pinamonte joined Albion on loan from Bristol City before moving to Brentford for £75,000. Hutchings, born in Hammersmith, played under Adams at Brentford. He made 144 League appearances for the Bees and helped them to promotion from the Third Division before switching to Bristol City for £130,000 in July 1998.

The 25-year-old, who can also play at the back, was troubled by a groin injury last season which restricted him to 18 starts. He has been a first team regular at Ashton Gate this term until the recent departure of boss Tony Pulis to Portsmouth.

Hutchings increases Albion's strong Brentford connection. Darren Freeman, Charlie Oatway, Paul Watson, Danny Cullip and Warren Aspinall all played for the Bees. Adams hopes to sign two more players, one on loan, the other a free transfer, before the Plymouth match to boost the Seagulls' hopes of a first win in eight games.

Oatway and Andy Crosby are available again after suspensions, but Adams' resources will be stretched to the limit at promotion hopefuls Northampton Town on Saturday week. Skipper Paul Rogers, Rod Thomas and Darren Carr are all banned for the trip to the Sixfields Stadium.
