FISH and chip shop managers Karen and Brian Hopcroft carried on frying for two hours on Saturday even though they had just scooped £2.6 million on the lottery.

Karen told the Argus: "I think we must have been in a state of shock because we kept working until 10.30pm and didn't even really celebrate when we got home.

"We've only had about four hours' sleep in the past three days, as we keep lying awake thinking about it."

Since their win, the couple, from Goring, have spent sleepless nights working out how they will spend the money.

So far they have come up with only one idea - a holiday in Spain. Karen, 41, and Brian, 48, say they need time to decide how the win will change their lives.

Their first decision was to give up their jobs as managers of The Captain's Table fish and chip shop in Goring.
