SUSSEX'S Wasim Khan faces the county who let him go tomorrow declaring: "I've don't hold any grudges."

The 28-year-old opener lines-up against Warwickshire at Hove, the club he was associated with for 14 years, enjoying some of the best form of his career.

His last seven innings have yielded 391 runs and have helped Sussex climb to second in the Championship table.

But Khan doesn't believe he has a point to prove against the county he left last season after playing just 30 first-class matches in five years.

"Obviously playing your old county is something special and it will seem a bit strange at first," he said.

"But I've got nothing to prove and I certainly don't hold a grudge against Warwickshire. I left to further my career and I'm delighted with the way things are goin for me at Sussex."

Warwickshire were hot favourites to land their third title in five years at the start of the season but they have won just once.

With Keith Newell sidelined by a broken finger, younger brother Mark comes into the county's middle order.

Michael Bevan, Mark Robinson, Jason Lewry and James Kirtley, who were all rested for the drawn game against South Africa, also return as Sussex seek to close the gap on leaders Surrey in their first match at Hove for seven weeks.

Also returing to his old stomping ground is Ed Giddins who was sacked by the county nearly two years ago after failing a drugs test.

Giddins has taken 35 Championship wickets for his new county, including 11 in Warwickshire's latest game against Gloucestershire.

But the Bears still slumped to their third successive Championship defeat and skipper Brian Lara admitted morale was low.

He said: "Everyone is disappointed. Our batting form in general is poor and my own is terrible and we mustn't let things slip any further.

"The coach (Phil Neale) is working on getting us into a more positive frame of mind because morale is low."

Play will start at 1pm and finish around 8.30pm in an effort to attract more spectators, although admission will be payable until around 6.30pm.

Sussex (probable): Peirce, Khan, Adams, Bevan, Carpenter, M.Newell, Edwards, Humphries, Kirtley, Lewry, Robinson.
