Two Sussex-based public relations officers have been awarded the Fellowship of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, the industry's top accolade.

Gina Field is chairman of Hurstpierpoint-based consultancy Field McNally Leathes, which has worked for clients across the world for 34 years, specialising in the food and drink industry.

Peter Rose is a strategic communications consultant based in Hove and working internationally. In his 30-year career in public relations, he has headed the news department of the Home Office, been director of communications at the Cabinet Office and Customs and Excise and was press secretary to the Committee on Standards in Public Life.

Of the 8,000 members of the institute, fewer than 300 are Fellows. Gina and Peter were among the first.
