Albion contract rebel Dan Harding was today warned there is no more money on the table.

The England under-21 leftback stalled over signing a new deal last month before leaving for a family holiday.

Now Harding will be told to take or leave the offer already tabled to him when he returns.

Chairman Dick Knight vowed in yesterday's Argus not to disrupt Albion's wage structure after lifelong fan Aaron Berry won a £250,000 transfer windfall for the Seagulls in a Coca-Cola competition.

Knight said: "The contract is on the table and we are not going to change our wage structure for Dan either.

"No club has made an approach for him to me. He is still a Brighton player and we hope he will be starting with us next season but I cannot say that for definite because he has not signed the contract yet.

"The offer is not going to change, so it is up to Dan."

Harding's current contract expires at the end of the month and Albion will be entitled to a fee if the 21-year-old youth team product goes.

Knight and manager Mark McGhee have already discussed contingency plans.

"We have to make provision for the possibility of Dan leaving, so we have talked about one or two leftbacks we could have along with Kerry (Mayo)," Knight said.

Harding was linked with several clubs last season, including Glasgow Rangers and Everton.

He indicated to McGhee in March that he wanted to re-sign for Albion but hedged his bets when the players reported back last month from an end-of-season break in Spain.

McGhee has urged Harding to improve his prospects of a move straight into the first team of a bigger club by committing his future to the Seagulls for one more season and performing well, rather than signing for a Championship rival or becoming a squad player with a Premiership side.
