A cook who took part in Gordon Ramsay's latest television series has revealed plans for sweet revenge on the celebrity chef.

Charita Jones, who owns Momma Cherri's in Little East Street, Brighton, plans to give the chef a taste of his own medicine when she visits his top London restaurant, Claridges.

Her soul food restaurant appears in the latest series of Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares, which begins tonight on Channel 4, as one of the businesses trying to boost custom with a visit from the notoriously sharp-tongued chef.

Mrs Jones will visit Ramsay's own restaurant for her foster daughter's 21st birthday on June 6. The Kitchen Nightmares episode featuring Momma Cherri's is due to be screened the following evening.

Mrs Jones, 50, originally from Philadelphia, USA, said: "I have told Gordon whether he is there on the night or not, I am going right up to the kitchen door at Claridges and going in and having a good look around.

"Every time he came into my kitchen he couldn't keep his fingers out of my pots and I will do the same thing and taste all of his food too."

Unlike previous Kitchen Nightmares which have seen Ramsay being physically sick after eating a starter and predictably losing his cool with the staff, Mrs Jones appears to have made a favourable impression on the cordon bleu chef.

Ramsay returned to film a follow-up for the programme and visited again during the Easter weekend with his family.

Mrs Jones said: "I cooked the food and sat with them.

"There was a genuine respect between the two of us, he liked the food and I have adopted him now, I call him my cousin."

In the six months since Ramsay arrived, Momma Cherri's has seen a big leap in business.

Mrs Jones said: "Having Gordon here saved my business, if he had not come the restaurant would be closed by now."
