A man was arrested and police are hunting others following the publication of pictures of men suspected of soccer violence.

The suspect, now bailed pending further inquiries, was picked up by police after The Argus ran photographs of eight wanted men on Friday.

Police, who released the pictures, were continuing their investigation into outbreaks of violence after the Brighton and Hove Albion's match with Leeds United at Withdean in October.

The suspects were caught on CCTV after two Brighton pubs were damaged and Leeds fans were attacked.

Detective Inspector Wendy Burton said: "We received a number of calls from members of the public following the publication of the article and we would like to thank The Argus.

"We are pleased with the results and we are hoping to identify more suspects."
