Kerrie-Ann Blackmer's story is a wonderful demonstration of the courage of two young children confronted with a serious situation where many adults would have panicked (The Argus, February 10).
Kerrie broke her neck and back after falling backwards down the stairs at home.
She also hit her head on a radiator as a result of her fall causing a serious head injury.
While blood poured from the wound, six-year-old Kallum and Abigail, four, stayed calm in the situation.
Kerrie's fall woke Kallum who went to investigate and calmly took charge.
After waking younger brother, Charlie, two, and Abigail, telling them to get dressed and settling them down, he was able to summon help for his mum.
This is a great story of courage and bravery especially from children so young faced with such a serious situation.
