A company which wants people to go for regular hearing check-ups has named the winner of its Listener of the Year competition.
The Hearing Company in George Street, Hove, presented Diane Fazackarley with a bouquet of flowers and a £500 cheque.
Diane, who is blind, was nominated by friend and colleague Jean Flynn and volunteers at a local disability advice centre.
She has worked there for 13 years, giving advice to those visiting the centre and taking time to listen to colleagues.
Diane, of Bevendean, Brighton said: "I am so delighted that the sense I rely on so much has won me this prize."
Hearing company manager Ruth Vizor said: "Diane stood out as a true unsung hero of the community."
The Hearing Company sells hearing aids, provides free check-ups, and campaigns for raised awareness of hearing loss issues.
