I can only imagine how let down Patcham residents must feel after the go-ahead was given to develop the plans for a 900-space park-and-ride site at Patcham Court Farm.
Councillor Pidgeon accuses the Labour council of insensitivity in handling the affair (Letters, Jan 28).
I am not often one to spring to Labour's defence but the villains of the piece at the meeting to decide Patcham's fate were the Tories.
The Greens tabled an amendment which would have ruled out any park-and-ride at Patcham.
Had the Conservatives supported us, we could have ended the residents' and allotment holders' misery there and then.
But the Tories voted against our amendment and with Labour's flawed proposal.
The fact ward councillors had promised their party's opposition and the now-beleaguered Tory parliamentary candidate and all of Patcham were opposed to the proposal apparently counted for nought.
