In response to Ralph Bicknell and John Webster (Letters, January 25), why are natural disasters classed as acts of God when it is simply nature?
Surely, in this scientific age, we can understand more about the dangers people live in by studying their geographical and environmental circumstances?
Yes, good has come out of the disaster but that is down to the compassion and generosity of human nature. We should be thanking our fellow human beings, not asking where was God?
