Who exactly are CARE?

I was born in Lancing more than 50 years ago and they certainly do not represent me or anyone I know.

One of my lasting memories of childhood is of lying in the garden on a warm summer's day and listening to the drone of the aircraft taking off from the airport.

Those planes were a lot noisier and created more pollution than modern aircraft.

Shoreham Airport was the first commercial aerodrome in Britain, opened in 1911, long before any of the CARE members were even born, so it does not have to ask anyone's permission to market the airport for commercial flights.

I wonder if CARE's air quality tests will allow for pollution from the busy roads, the A259 and A27, which run either side of the airport.

If they are so concerned about their health being affected by the airport, there is a very simple solution - move.
