Storming a packed tube in the middle of lunchtime and blasting innocent commuters with a megaphone is a surefire way to get noticed - The Others'
guerilla-style attack on London's workforce could well be the best live moment of the year.
But their upcoming Brighton performance is likely to be another contender. Singled out by NME as Britain's most worshipped new band, their sound ranges from dark punk to punchy pop with a hefty dose of realism slipped into the lyrics.
Frontman Dominic Masters has been called an 'icon in the making' and their latest single, Lackey, is a call to arms for anyone who has ever been stuck in a dead-end job. In a bid to inspire millions to abandon the daily grind he snarls: "I don't want to be a lackey in a job / Want to escape for a while, get a new idea".
The London/Brighton quartet have just released their eponymous first album, which they reckon is the Definitely Maybe of the Noughties and should launch them into superstardom by this time next year.
Starts 7.30pm, tickets cost £7. Call 01273 673311.
