With regard to the withdrawal of the paramedic motorbike (The Argus, January 17), surely the spokeswoman has not visited Brighton and Hove during the day, when it is as busy as most cities in the UK.

She and her bosses probably took this decision in the comfort of their offices with no thought of the consequences when an ambulance is unable to reach its destination through the city's heavy traffic.

Surely the motorbike would help the ambulance service with its all-important response target which, we are told, it does not achieve.

Who will be held accountable when an ambulance is unable to reach a patient in time?
